As CEO of MedMe Health, Purya Sarmadi leads the strategic vision and growth of Canada's leading pharmacy clinical services platform. Inspired by his mother’s experiences within the healthcare system and driven by his passion for making a large-scale impact at the intersection of healthcare and technology, Purya co-founded MedMe Health on the belief that pharmacists, the most accessible healthcare professionals, are key to solving the challenges of rising healthcare costs, meeting the needs of an aging population, reactive care, and a strained workforce. Since its inception, MedMe has empowered pharmacies with a platform to transform into modern healthcare hubs. Under his leadership, MedMe has powered over 25 million pharmacy services and is trusted by more than 4,000 pharmacies across North America.

Purya’s expertise lies in health informatics, innovation, and system transformation. Prior to launching MedMe, he was the Data Lead for Surgical Efficiency and Wait Times in Ontario, working to improve healthcare delivery through analytics. His career spans roles at leading healthcare organizations, including Cancer Care Ontario, Trillium Health Partners, University Health Network, and Sanofi Pasteur. He also served as a management consultant on provincial government contracts, applying innovative IT and analytics solutions to improve healthcare operations and patient outcomes. Committed to advancing the health tech ecosystem, Purya serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo, educating future leaders in health informatics. He is also a mentor and advisor for NEXT Canada, supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.

A recognized thought leader within the pharmacy technology industry, he frequently speaks on pharmacy trends, the shift from product-based to service-based revenue models, the role of AI and technology in the pharmacy practice, and strategies for launching services from head office to the ground level at national and international conferences.

Purya holds a Master’s degree in Health Informatics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from Western University. His work continues to redefine the role of pharmacists as healthcare providers
