Laura Beres is a business executive with 20 years of experience across corporate strategy and operations in retail and consumer industries, building new market-facing and organizational capabilities and executing complex transformational agendas.
Currently, Laura serves as Vice President and Head of Wellness at Ulta Beauty, where she is responsible for growing and scaling business operations across all functions. Previously, Laura led Merchandising, Strategy & Growth where she led all 600+ Ulta Beauty at Target locations, and total Merchandising strategy for Ulta Beauty driving profitable growth and market share across all categories. Laura built and led the Enterprise Transformation Office as Vice President, where she oversaw all enterprise strategic initiatives including ERP, digital, and data transformations, among others. She led development of the transformation journey and its overall strategy, as well as built and established portfolio/program/project management, change management and value realization capabilities. Laura also developed and led Conscious Beauty at Ulta BeautyTM, a consumer-facing ESG beauty activation that gives guests access to choices and transparency across clean ingredients, product sustainability and more. In addition, Laura led Corporate Strategy at Ulta Beauty, supporting the organization in developing its long-term vision with the senior leadership team.
Laura began her career in financial services where she gained experience in commercial lending across small and middle market companies. After earning her M.B.A., Laura worked at Deloitte Consulting, advising Consumer & Retail companies on growth and transformation strategies. She also held global leadership roles at Deloitte in the CMO organization and on large accounts, both developing and executing strategies.
In the fall of 2020, Laura joined the Board of Directors for publicly-traded Solésence, Inc. where she serves as Chair, Audit Committee. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Youth Guidance, a non-profit organization that enables children succeed in school and in life. Laura is civically involved across the Economic Club of Chicago, and is a 2024 Fellow in Leadership Greater Chicago.
She earned her M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and has a B.S. in Finance and B.A. in Oboe Performance from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Laura lives with her husband and three children in Naperville, Illinois.
