Amanda Nusz is senior vice president of essentials and beauty, merchandising for Target, which includes national brands, owned brands and design partnerships.
Previously, she was senior vice president of corporate responsibility and sustainability and led the launch of Target Forward, the company’s enterprise-wide sustainability strategy. She served as President of the Target Foundation for nearly four years.
Prior to her time in corporate responsibility and sustainability, Amanda served as vice president of quality and responsible sourcing in Target’s global sourcing organization. In the role, she ensured Target’s vendors and suppliers operated safe, ethical, and efficient factory environments to produce high-quality, sustainable and consumer-safe products.
Additionally, Amanda led the development for one of Target’s owned brands by spearheading the creation of the billion-dollar kids’ line, Cat & Jack. A high-quality and affordable brand co-created with families, Cat & Jack is designed to be adaptive, durable and responsibly sourced. Amanda has held various roles in human resources and merchandising across multiple categories, including health & beauty, baby essentials, kids’, and women’s apparel.
In addition to her work at Target, Amanda represented the company on Adweek’s Sustainability Council, served as a member of the World Resource Institute Corporate Consultant Group, a member of the Sustainable Brands Board, and was a founding member of the Global Fashion Agenda. She serves on the Board of Nest.
Amanda received her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Minnesota and an executive degree from MIT.
